Our annual Hammond House Poetry Competition attracts writers from around the world in search of recognition, publication and valuable feedback. The winners receive a cash prize, and worldwide publication of their work in an anthology of short stories, together with twenty-four shortlisted entries.
The prizes are presented at a televised award ceremony held in winter by celebrities from the world of literature and entertainment and include video links to any winners who are unable to be present.
Our 2019 competition, LEAVING, proved extremely popular, receiving entries from over twenty-five different countries. The anthology of the same name has gone on to sell copies all over the world.
The theme for the 2020 competition – SURVIVAL – is intended to be inspirational, not restrictive, so please feel free to interpret it in any way you choose. Be creative, be unpredictable, be different; the judges are looking for intriguing ideas and fresh voices.
